This monument is located beside the back door of the Lexington Library which is on the East side of the City Muncipal Building.

The Bronze Plaque reads:

In honor of Capt. Rudolph Papst and all the soldiers of Lexington who served
their country in the Civil War.
G. A. R.
1861 to 1865."
