This monument is located on M-29 approximately 25 miles south of Port Huron, in downtown Algonac, Michigan along the Boardwalk Park.
The inscription on the base of the monument reads:

The Algonac Historical Museum is located just to the South of the Monument and is an excellent place to visit on a warm summer afternoon. The area affords an excellent view of passing Great Lakes freighters and Ocean going ships.
