Andrew J. Demarest

Company G, 9th Michigan Infantry

Andrew enlisted at Coldwater, Michigan on August 15, 1861 for 3 years of service at age 18. He took the muster oath on October 15, 1861. He re-enlisted at Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 7, 1863. After Veteran furlough he mustered in on December 25, 1863. Promoted to Corporal on March 1, 1865. He was mustered out at Nashville, Tennessee on September 15, 1865.

He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery at Girard, Michigan along with several of his relatives.
