Seymour Gay

Company I, 6th Michigan Infantry

Seymour was born August 6, 1830 in Herkimer County (then Livingston County) New York and settled with his family in Calhoun County, Michigan when he was approx. 5 years old. He enlisted at Albion for three years of service on August 19, 1861 . Mustered into Federal service on the August 20, 1861 as a Private. Promoted to Corporal on the January 20, 1863. He was discharged at the expiration of his term of service at Kalamazoo, Michigan, on August 20, 1864.
