They are a copy the "Muster Out" rolls containing the name and basic record of every man and his disposition, including death and the reason thereof. who fought for a Michigan unit or a Michigan citizen enrolled in a unit representing a different state or the Federal Forces.
They are a 46 Volume set available in many libraries across the country.
The states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Kansas have all published these rolls.
The state of New York, Delaware and Maryland did not consider these rolls important enough to publish.
